The 12 O’Clock Hills
The 12 O’Clock Hills are part of the Slieve Bearnagh Mountain Range in East Clare, Ireland. Located just 15 minutes from Shannon Springs Hotel, discover the 5k Heritage Looped Walk which is ideal for people with an interest in local history and requires a modest level of fitness or explore the longer 8.5k Looped Walk. Both loops are quite scenic including pine needle covered paths through the forest with river and stream features. The vistas expand on reaching the open mountainside near the top with 360-degree views of the villages of East Clare with West Clare and the Burren in the background.
Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk
Discover the very best views from the Cliffs of Moher with an 18km coastal walk. Starting off in Liscannor combining steep ascents, flagstone steps, and farm tracks, the Cliffs Of Moher Coastal Walk is a tough but spectacular walk. The Cliff walk usually takes on average 4 and half hours to complete and requires a good level of fitness.
Kilkee Cliff Walk
Enjoy a mesmerizing 8km walk along the Kilkee cliff. Discover Pollock holes, Diamond Rocks, and Intrinsic Bay. The usual start point is at the Diamond Rocks Café at the West End of the town of Kilkee. There are no walls between the walkway and the cliff’s edge, so you’ll get your daily dose of adrenaline just by walking but take caution along this route.
Dromore Wood Nature Reserve
Located 25 minutes from the Shannon Springs Hotel, Dromore Woods Nature Reserve is a family favourite. Discover a wide diversity of flora and fauna along rivers, lakes and limestone pavement. There are many hidden areas along the walking trail to stop at and enjoy a picnic by the river
